Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year as a Yancey Bulldog! We are so excited for our scholars to return and we welcome all new scholars to our L. B. Yancey family! We are dedicated to providing the best educational experience possible for our students and are committed to Spreading Happiness And Practicing Excellence (S.H.A.P.E) The Yancey Way!

It is my honor to serve as your principal. This is my 11th year as an educator with Vance County Schools. I received an Associate’s Degree from Vance-Granville Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from East Carolina University. In 2018, I received a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from High Point University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University in 2021. I am humbled to be able to continue learning with this prestigious group of colleagues and scholars.

We will continue striving to be intentional and strategic in preparing rigorous and engaging activities that will yield high student achievement and growth. We are committed to teaching our scholars to be independent thinkers and learners. Our goal is to build positive relationships that will promote inclusion and foster a safe and welcoming environment.
